Thank you for visiting my site.

About Me:

I am a level designer focused on honing my craft through continually creating unique game spaces that provide an engaging and memorable experience for players. I was recently contracted to work on various PVP and Tycoon maps within Fortnite Creative that have launched with millions of plays.

I am currently working to develop my capacity to plan level flow, blockout 3D spaces, determine spatial metrics, create encounters, script level design tools and gameplay features. Most recently I have been working in Unreal Engine 5 developing 3rd person experiences. However I have worked in various camera perspectives, genres, and am eager to learn new skills and tech.

Last year I took ownership of the level design and gameplay for The Chad (Fall 2023), a humorous 3rd person action game that received a 91% positive review on Steam. Now I lead a small, multidisciplinary team in creating a 3rd person survival horror experience that takes inspiration from both Resident Evil 4 and Bloodborne.

A little bit more about me...

How have your experiences prepared you to work in game development?

My experiences have helped me become proficient in breaking down, organizing, and communicating design through developing well-structured documentation. They have also helped me to communicate effectively with different departments such as art, tech, design, narrative, etc. Lastly, they have pushed me to think critically about games and all their elements in producing an intended experience.

What is your leadership experience?

I have experiences working in team environments, supervising others, and project management. At Smashing Graphics Game Studios, I worked as a project supervisor to direct art teams and operated along side programmers, writers and composers to ensure game continuity.  At Van Arts I also put together a small team of classmates, recent graduates and outside professionals on a game project. I currently lead a small team at Digital Cannoli Games where we have launched our game, The Chad, and are in the mist of our next development cycle.

What skills and experience would you like to improve upon?

I looking to improve my level design skills. A few areas that I have recently focused on are player guidance, spatial communication, pathing, space layout, level flow, atmosphere, and environmental storytelling.

What is the most important aspect of game development?

Game continuity is the most important aspect when developing game experiences. Not only should a game meet a balanced quality standard among it's different elements but it's elements should also be working together cohesively under an established vison and macro. This is all in order to develop holistic, original experiences for the player. I discuss this at greater lengths within my design blog
